Messaging with families

ClassLab has a built-in messaging channel between your structure and the families you teach, so conversations stay in one place rather than scattered across email.

Where messages live

Each student record has a Messages tab. From there you can write to the family, and the exchange stays attached to the student.

From the family side

In the portal, parents and students can ask a question. Their message reaches you in the student's Messages tab, and students can reply to keep the conversation going.

Keeping context

Because messages are attached to the student, anyone on your team who opens the record sees the full history — useful for follow-up and handovers between teachers.
